Football has started again.
In our house, this is a big deal.
Maybe it shouldn’t be. Maybe we
should be out enjoying the beautiful San Diego day, hitting up one of the
beaches, hiking up one of the mountains, taking our energizer-bunny pup to the
dog park, but we aren’t. Instead we are
sitting on the couch staring at our lap tops to see who has inched ahead in our
line-ups or who is listed as questionable to play this week, watching NFL Red
Zone flip between five different games in twenty second increments, and eating
carbs – lots of carbs. And the sad part
is that I look forward to this routine every week.
I look forward to waking up and putting on the tea kettle,
settling down on the couch in my worn quilt, baking something pumpkin-filled,
drinking our morning caffeine, and relaxing with my loves.
In reality I know that these lazy days won’t last forever. But maybe that is what makes them so
special.
And there’s always Saturday, right…
A little glimpse into our Sunday routine.
