California Girls - Part 3

What could be better than having your best friend come and visit you all the way from the East Coast – having TWO of your best friends come and visit you all the way from the East Coast!
We tried to show Tina and Leslie all of our favorite places in San Diego and make the most of their time here. As with the earlier posts, pictures are the best way to experience the weekend with us!

On a side note, since this will be the last post on the Cali trip, I just want to thank Leslie and Tina for coming out and visiting us.  As I said earlier, you have no idea how much it means to me to have friends who are willing to travel so far to spend time in our new home.  I love you and am already getting ready for the next girls’ trip!

Note from Leslie:  we really saw it all in SD!  Once Tina got there, we were on a roll to check out everything...my top two priorities were the zoo and a padres game which were both very fun!  Thanks for having us Casey and Matt...SoCal treated us well :)  I'll be back, that's for sure!
Our favorite bar/restaurant - C&C

Wine Bar

They didn't believe that San Diego evenings get cold!

Tina, Nick and I (Leslie) went to La Jolla on Friday to have lunch and get in a little beach time (as if I hadn't had enough throughout the week!).  We went to Brockton Villa in downtown La Jolla for lunch...delicious and a fantastic view!

lunch included delicious cocktails and an ocean view

That night we did it up in Little Italy...

Pedi-cab to see the Padres...we jammed out to our driver's boombox the whole way there!

This place has shown up on the blog before - The Field!

Wouldn't be a trip to San Diego without visiting the Zoo!

What a cutie!

The polar bears wrestling in the water was our favorite part!

riding the air tram over the zoo

Later Nick, Matt, and I (Leslie) visited Chris on his houseboat in Ocean Beach.  It's such a cool, simple way of life. Chris has lived there for about 3+ years now and we have always tried to envision his boat and how he lives on it...it was great to see it in person.

the neighborhood Chris lives in...the marina :)

Tina and I rented beach cruisers and biked around Coronado.
It was one of the best things I have done in San Diego since I have been here!

Sunset on the rocks.

last night...of course we eat Mexican!

Tina and her first California burrito which I have to admit was delicious!

And we're the three best friends that anyone could have...
Love from both coasts and two cities!
